This is a detail of a quilt I created to honor Amalia Hernandez and her love of Mexico and all it's culture. She was a famous Mexican dancer and choreographer who cemented the indigenous image of Mexico around the world. This has helped recognize the purely unique Mexican culture, as well as promote a sense of national pride in regards to folklorico dancing. Her most famous dances (Melodies of Michoacan, Deer Dance, Jalisco, Fandangos) all spotlight certain areas of Mexico, alongside with their cultural traditions.

Ever since I began painting, my art has been in a constant state of change, ever evolving. Much time is spent experimenting with new combinations of art material and techniques, but whatever I do, I always do from my heart. My art is the result of a long painting process; Every one of my artworks reflects and illustrates my life past and present, my family, my surroundings, the things and ideas that capture my imagination, my friends and the people I meet on a daily basis.
